The Neighboring Cultures galleries display antiquities from Egypt, the broader Near East, Greece, and Italy. Over the ages, these regions exerted a profound influence on the cultural development of the Land of Israel, strategically situated at their crossroads.

The first gallery includes four displays – Egypt of the Pharaohs, the Ancient Near East, The Greek World, and The Peoples of Italy – presenting objects dating from the 7th millennium BCE to the 7th century CE.

The next gallery – the Islamic Near East – exhibits objects from the 7th century CE through the 19th century. Together, these galleries complement and deepen the picture that emerges from the adjacent exhibition of the archaeology of the Land of Israel, shedding light on the rich and fascinating links between the Land and its neighbors since the dawn of civilization.
